Delightful cupcakes combining rich chocolate and creamy peanut butter frosting, topped with a Reese’s candy.

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (for frosting consistency)
- Reese’s candy for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
- Mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add the egg, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth.
- Fill the cupcake liners about 2/3 full with the batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let them cool completely.
- Beat together the peanut butter and softened butter until smooth for the frosting. Gradually add powdered sugar and mix well, adding milk as needed to achieve a creamy consistency.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes with the peanut butter frosting and top each cupcake with a piece of Reese’s candy.
Notes
Make sure your ingredients are at room temperature before you start. Don’t overmix the batter; mix just until combined for best texture.
