Description

A refreshing beverage made with sun-ripened peaches and brewed black tea, perfect for hot summer days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (960 ml) water
  • 4 teaspoons loose black tea or 4 tea bags
  • 23 ripe peaches (about 250300 g)
  • ½ to 1 cup (100200 g) granulated sugar
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the peaches by washing and pitting them. Slice into thin wedges and set aside.
  2. Boil water in a large pot over medium-high heat.
  3. Steep the tea in the boiling water for 5–7 minutes.
  4. Sweeten the tea by adding sliced peaches and sugar while the tea is warm.
  5. Strain the tea into a pitcher, removing the tea leaves and peach slices.
  6. Cool the tea at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  7. Chill the tea in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Serve the chilled tea over ice, garnishing with fresh peach slices if desired.

Notes

For a more intense peach flavor, muddle a few peach slices before steeping.
