- 1 lb beef sirloin, sliced into thin strips
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef strips and cook until browned; remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add garlic and ginger; sauté until fragrant.
- Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, and water; bring to a simmer.
- Mix cornstarch with a little water in a separate bowl, then add to the skillet to thicken the sauce.
- Return the beef to the skillet and stir to coat fully in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with green onions and serve over cooked rice.
Notes
Cut the beef against the grain for tender strips. You can add vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli for a nutritious twist.
