Description

Perfectly crispy chicken wings seasoned with bold spices and a hint of sweetness, made healthier in an air fryer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 kg (2 lbs) chicken wings
  • 60 ml (¼ cup) soy sauce
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) hoisin sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp minced ginger
  • 1 tbsp five spice powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Marinate the wings by combining soy sauce, hoisin sauce, garlic, ginger, and five spice powder in a mixing bowl. Add the chicken wings, mix well, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  2. Remove the wings from the refrigerator and pat them dry.
  3. Mix baking powder with a pinch of salt and toss it with the wings until evenly coated.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Cook the wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer for 25-30 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  6. Serve the wings on a platter and allow them to rest for 5 minutes before enjoying.

Notes

For extra crispiness, consider tossing the wings in a little cornstarch before adding baking powder.
