Perfectly crispy chicken wings seasoned with bold spices and a hint of sweetness, made healthier in an air fryer.
Ingredients

- 1 kg (2 lbs) chicken wings
- 60 ml (¼ cup) soy sauce
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) hoisin sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp minced ginger
- 1 tbsp five spice powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Marinate the wings by combining soy sauce, hoisin sauce, garlic, ginger, and five spice powder in a mixing bowl. Add the chicken wings, mix well, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Remove the wings from the refrigerator and pat them dry.
- Mix baking powder with a pinch of salt and toss it with the wings until evenly coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for about 5 minutes.
- Cook the wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer for 25-30 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
- Serve the wings on a platter and allow them to rest for 5 minutes before enjoying.
Notes
For extra crispiness, consider tossing the wings in a little cornstarch before adding baking powder.
