Description

An easy and satisfying casserole that combines ground beef, potatoes, and a creamy sauce topped with cheese, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 onion, diced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef with the diced onion in a skillet until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  3. Mix the cream of mushroom soup with milk, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish, followed by the ground beef mixture, and half of the cheese.
  5. Add another layer of the remaining potatoes and pour the soup mixture over the top. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbling.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Consider using a mix of different cheeses for added flavor. This dish is great for leftovers and reheats well.
