Description

Make your own fleet of reindeer this Christmas with this cute vegan cake pop recipe! Fun to decorate and even more fun to eat, this vegan reindeer cake pop recipe is a great one to make with kids over the holiday season.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 125 g plain flour
  • 25 g cacao powder
  • 130 g dairy free butter
  • 115 g caster sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 80 g smooth apple sauce
  • 30 ml vegetable oil
  • 60 g dairy-free yoghurt
  • 40 g icing sugar
  • 150 g vegan cream cheese
  • 25 g cacao powder
  • 120 g dark chocolate
  • 3 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 12 cake pop sticks
  • Edible eyes
  • Pretzels for antlers
  • Red icing for nose

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C and grease or line a square or rectangular tin.
  2. Cream together the butter and caster sugar, then add the apple sauce, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and yoghurt.
  3. Combine before adding the plain flour and cacao powder.
  4. Mix well and pour into the tin. Bake until a toothpick comes out clean (20-25 minutes).
  5. Allow the cake to cool completely before crumbling it into small crumbs.
  6. Cream together icing sugar, cream cheese, and cacao powder, then mix in the crumbs.
  7. Roll into 12 balls and insert a stick into each. Chill on a lined tray for a couple of hours.
  8. Melt dark chocolate and coconut oil, then coat each cake pop in chocolate.
  9. Prop the chocolate-covered pops up to set.
  10. Cut pretzels for antlers and poke into the cake pops. Add eyes and chill to set.
  11. Once set, add icing for the nose and enjoy!
