Description

Rich, creamy, and undeniably indulgent, Tiramisu Truffles are everything you love about the classic Italian dessert, packed into a perfectly poppable bite. These no-bake treats combine the smooth decadence of mascarpone with the bold flavors of espresso and cocoa, wrapped in a velvety chocolate shell dusted in cocoa powder.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (225g) mascarpone cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp instant espresso powder (or 2 tbsp very strong brewed coffee, cooled)
  • 1 1/2 cups finely crushed ladyfingers (savoiardi)
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate (for optional coating)
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting
  • Optional: A splash of coffee liqueur (like Kahlúa or Tia Maria) for extra depth
  • Optional: White chocolate or milk chocolate for coating variety

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the softened mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and espresso powder. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the mixture on medium speed until smooth, creamy, and slightly fluffy. The espresso powder should be fully dissolved and well integrated.
  2. Gently fold in the crushed ladyfingers using a silicone spatula or wooden spoon. Stir until the crumbs are fully incorporated, creating a thick and pliable dough-like consistency. If the mixture is too soft to shape, refrigerate it for 15-20 minutes to firm it up.
  3. Once the mixture is firm enough to handle, use a cookie scoop or spoon to portion out about 1 tablespoon of the mixture. Roll it between your palms to form smooth, even balls. Place each formed truffle on a parchment-lined tray. Repeat until all the mixture is used.
  4. For an extra decadent touch, melt the dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring in between until fully melted. Dip each chilled truffle halfway or fully into the chocolate, letting the excess drip off. Return them to the parchment-lined tray.
  5. Using a fine mesh sieve, generously dust the tops of each truffle with unsweetened cocoa powder.
  6. Chill the Tiramisu Truffles in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow them to set before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure your mascarpone is at room temperature for the creamiest texture.
  • Use high-quality espresso or very strong coffee for the most authentic flavor.
  • If the mixture is too soft to roll, chill it for 15-20 minutes.
  • The cocoa dusting balances the sweetness beautifully.
  • These truffles are make-ahead friendly.
