- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying (vegetable or olive oil recommended)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked rice, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Using your hands or a small scoop, shape the mixture into small, evenly sized balls, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
- Pour oil into a frying pan to a depth of about half an inch and heat over medium heat.
- Carefully place the rice balls into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove fried rice balls with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot.
