Description

Savory Salt and Pepper Pork Chops for a Quick Dinner Fix

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pieces Pork Chops (bone-in or boneless)
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt (for seasoning)
  • 1 teaspoon Freshly Ground Black Pepper (for seasoning)
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable or Canola Oil (for searing)
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 cloves Fresh Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger (grated, or ground ginger)

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels and season both sides with kosher salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat a heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat, adding enough oil to coat the bottom.
  3. Sear the pork chops in the hot skillet for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown, then flip and repeat.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium, add soy sauce, garlic, and ginger, cooking until pork reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  5. Remove from heat and let the pork chops rest for a few minutes before serving.
  6. Optional: Garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

  • This dish cooks quickly, so keep an eye on the pork chops to avoid overcooking.
  • You can adjust the seasoning to your taste.
  • Serve with steamed vegetables or rice for a complete meal.
