Description

Simple Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats Covered in Chocolate: An Amazing Ultimate Recipe

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smooth melting)

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar and light corn syrup. Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a gentle boil.
  3. Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the creamy peanut butter and vanilla extract until completely smooth and combined.
  4. Pour the Rice Krispies cereal into the saucepan. Stir gently until the cereal is fully coated with the peanut butter mixture.
  5. Spoon the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Press it down firmly and evenly using a spatula or your hands (lightly greased).
  6. Allow the mixture to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  7. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.
  8. Once the Rice Krispie treats have cooled, pour the melted chocolate over the top. Use a spatula to spread it evenly across the surface.
  9. Place the pan in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes to allow the chocolate to set.
  10. Once the chocolate is firm, remove the treats from the pan. Cut them into squares or rectangles and serve.
