Description
Mushroom Pizza with Fresh Herbs is a simple and delicious dish that you can easily make at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pre-made pizza crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 cups fresh mushrooms, sliced (such as cremini or button)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) to ensure a crispy crust.
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic, sautéing until the mushrooms are tender and browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Sprinkle in the dried oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine and remove from heat.
- If using a store-bought crust, follow the package instructions for pre-baking. If making homemade crust, roll it out to your desired thickness.
- Spread the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the pizza crust.
- Evenly distribute the sautéed mushroom mixture over the cheese.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top of the mushrooms for an extra layer of flavor.
- Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust is golden brown.
- Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and allow it to cool for about 5 minutes.
- Top with fresh basil leaves and chopped parsley before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use a variety of mushrooms for different flavors.
- Feel free to add other toppings like pepperoni or bell peppers.
