- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies
- 1 cup fresh jalapenos, diced (remove seeds for less heat)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup crushed tortilla chips (for topping)
- Fresh cilantro or green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or turkey until cooked through. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes with green chilies, jalapenos, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well combined.
- Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, reserving a little for the topping.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
- Spread the sour cream evenly over the top of the casserole.
- Sprinkle the crushed tortilla chips on top, followed by the reserved cheese.
- Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
