Description

Hawaiian Roll Bread Pudding is a delightful dessert made with sweet rolls, eggs, milk, and tropical flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple (drained)
  • ½ cup shredded coconut (optional)
  • ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Tear the Hawaiian rolls into bite-sized pieces and place them evenly in the greased baking dish.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. Stir in the crushed pineapple, shredded coconut, and chopped nuts if using. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Pour the custard mixture over the torn rolls, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Gently press down to ensure even coverage.
  6. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
