Description

These Halloween Croissants are spooky, cheesy, and frightfully fun to make! With buttery, flaky pastry and gooey melted cheese inside, they’re the perfect Halloween treat for parties, lunchboxes, or cozy movie nights. Quick to prepare and irresistibly cute, these ghost-shaped croissants bring festive fun to every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 roll Jus-Rol Croissant Dough (250g)
  • 2 slices white cheddar cheese or similar melting cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • A few black olives or edible candy eyes
  • A pinch of plain flour (for dusting, optional)
  • Optional: If using candy eyes, ensure they’re oven-safe or add them after baking.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan) or 400°F. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the croissant dough onto a lightly floured surface and smooth seams if needed.
  3. Cut ghost shapes using a knife or cutter, keeping rounded tops and wavy ends.
  4. Place a slice of cheese on half of the dough pieces, leaving space at the edges.
  5. Top with another dough piece and press edges to seal.
  6. Use a straw or piping tip to make small eye holes, or add edible eyes after baking.
  7. Brush with beaten egg and bake for 10–12 minutes, until golden and puffed.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving warm.

Notes

  • Do not overfill with cheese — a thin slice is enough to prevent leaks.
  • Press olives for eyes gently after baking to avoid burning.
  • If dough is soft, chill for 5–10 minutes before cutting for easier shaping.
  • Try different cheeses like mozzarella or gouda for flavor variety.
  • For added color, mix a bit of pumpkin puree with the cheese.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container up to 2 days; reheat at 180°C (350°F) for 5–7 minutes.
