Description
Grilled Parmesan Garlic Oysters are a delightful seafood appetizer featuring fresh oysters topped with a savory blend of garlic, butter, and Parmesan cheese, then grilled to perfection. They offer a burst of ocean flavor enhanced by a rich, cheesy crust.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 fresh oysters, shucked and cleaned
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (400-450°F).
- Shuck the oysters carefully, keeping the juice inside.
- In a small saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Remove from heat and stir in grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley.
- Spoon the garlic Parmesan mixture generously over each shucked oyster.
- Place the topped oysters directly on the preheated grill grates.
- Grill for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Carefully remove from the grill and let cool slightly before serving with lemon wedges.
Notes
- Always choose fresh, tightly closed oysters. Discard any that are open and do not close when tapped.
- Adjust the amount of garlic to your preference.
- Clean and oil grill grates to prevent sticking.
- Monitor oysters closely to prevent overcooking.
- Consider adding red pepper flakes or lemon zest to the topping for extra flavor.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheated in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-10 minutes. Avoid microwave reheating.
