Instructions

  1. Thaw the puff pastry sheets according to package instructions until slightly chilled but pliable. Carefully unfold the sheets on a floured surface.
  2. Using a round biscuit cutter or a cup about 3 inches in diameter, cut out circles from the puff pastry. Use a smaller cutter (about 1 inch) to cut out the centers, creating donut-shaped rings.
  3. Pour vegetable oil into a deep skillet or heavy-bottomed pot to a depth of about 2-3 inches. Heat the oil to 350°F (175°C), using a deep-frying thermometer to monitor temperature.
  4. Carefully add a few cronuts to the hot oil, being cautious not to overcrowd the pan. Fry each side for about 2-3 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
