Description
Homemade Eggnog Bread Pudding: An Incredible Ultimate Recipe
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups stale bread, cubed (French or challah works best)
- 4 cups eggnog
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup raisins or dried cranberries (optional)
- Butter, for greasing the baking dish
- Whipped cream or ice cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread with the raisins or dried cranberries if using. Set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggnog, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the eggnog mixture over the cubed bread. Gently stir until all the bread is soaked, allowing it to sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the liquid.
- Pour the bread mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
- Once baked, remove the pudding from the oven and let it cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
- For an extra touch, serve warm with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
