Description

Double Crunch Honey Garlic Chicken is a crispy and flavorful dish that combines sweet and savory elements.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken thighs (boneless, skinless)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred for extra crunch)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle this mixture over the chicken and toss to coat evenly.
  3. In one bowl, place the flour. In another bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs mixed with corn starch.
  4. Dip each piece of chicken into the flour, shaking off excess. Then, dip it into the eggs, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  5. In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Heat over low-medium heat, stirring until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.
  6. In a large skillet or frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  7. Working in batches, add the breaded chicken to the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side. Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  8. Remove the fried chicken from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
  9. Toss the fried chicken pieces with the honey garlic sauce until they are fully coated.
  10. Transfer the coated chicken to a serving platter and garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs.
  • Adjust the honey and soy sauce ratio to your taste.
  • Serve with rice or vegetables for a complete meal.
