  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties, about ¾ inch thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and cook until they are softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and stir to combine. Gradually add the beef broth and soy sauce, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
  6. Place the cooked patties back into the skillet with the gravy. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
