- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties, about ¾ inch thick.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and cook until they are softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and stir to combine. Gradually add the beef broth and soy sauce, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
- Place the cooked patties back into the skillet with the gravy. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
