- 6 cups day-old bread, cubed (such as brioche or challah)
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread and chocolate chips. Toss to mix evenly.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add in the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until well combined and smooth.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the bread and chocolate chips. Gently fold everything together until the bread is well coated and the chocolate is evenly distributed.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and allow the bread pudding to cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
- For a beautiful finishing touch, dust the top with powdered sugar before serving.
