Description

Decadent Gooey Chocolate Cream Cheese Bread Pudding is an incredible dessert that combines rich chocolate and creamy cheese with soft bread.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups day-old bread, cubed (such as brioche or challah)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread and chocolate chips. Toss to mix evenly.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add in the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until well combined and smooth.
  4. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the bread and chocolate chips. Gently fold everything together until the bread is well coated and the chocolate is evenly distributed.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Once baked, remove from the oven and allow the bread pudding to cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
  8. For a beautiful finishing touch, dust the top with powdered sugar before serving.
