  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup raisins or other dried fruits (optional)
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
  • Caramel sauce, for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Place the cubed stale bread in a large mixing bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the cubed bread. Gently stir to ensure all the bread is soaked.
  5. If you’re using raisins or other dried fruits, fold them into the bread mixture.
  6. Pour the bread mixture into the prepared baking dish. Drizzle the melted butter over the top.
