Description
Easy Cozy Wild Berry Bread Pudding: An Amazing Ultimate Recipe
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups day-old bread, cubed (French or challah works best)
- 2 cups mixed wild berries (fresh or frozen)
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- Place the cubed bread in a large mixing bowl. If using fresh bread, allow it to sit out for a few hours to dry slightly.
- Gently fold in the mixed wild berries, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the bread cubes.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the custard mixture over the bread and berry mixture. Gently stir until the bread is well coated and absorbs the liquid.
- Allow the mixture to sit for about 10-15 minutes, giving the bread time to absorb the custard.
- Pour the soaked mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
- If desired, dust the top with powdered sugar for an elegant touch before serving.
