- 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped (or dried sage)
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for sautéing, optional)
- 1 sheet puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Combine the sausage meat, sage, mustard powder, garlic powder, pepper, salt, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl. Mix well.
- Roll the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle.
- Place the sausage mixture along one edge of the pastry. Roll the pastry around the sausage, sealing the edges tightly. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
- Slice the rolled pastry into smaller pieces and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Let the sausage rolls cool for a few minutes before serving with cranberry sauce or mustard.
