Description
Zesty Christmas Cranberry Jalapeno Dip for Festive Cheers
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz Fresh Cranberries (Frozen cranberries can be used as a substitute.)
- 1 medium Jalapeno Pepper (Remove seeds for less heat.)
- 3 tbsp Granulated Sugar (Substitute sugar can be used if desired.)
- 1/4 cup Water
- 8 oz Cream Cheese (Make sure it’s softened.)
- 1/2 cup Sour Cream (Greek yogurt can be used for a lighter option.)
- 2 tbsp Lime Juice (Fresh lime juice is preferred.)
- 1/4 cup Fresh Cilantro (Can be omitted or substituted with parsley.)
- 1 tsp Salt (Adjust to taste.)
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper (Can be adjusted or omitted.)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, pour in the fresh cranberries, chopped jalapenos, granulated sugar, and water. Stir well, then bring it to a gentle boil over medium heat.
- Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for 10-12 minutes. Allow it to cool completely.
- In a mixing bowl, take your softened cream cheese and beat it until smooth. Then, add sour cream, lime juice, chopped cilantro, salt, and black pepper. Mix until everything is combined and creamy.
- Gently fold in the cooled cranberry-jalapeno mixture into the cream cheese blend.
- Scoop the dip into a serving bowl, cover it, and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Notes
- Adjust jalapeno quantity based on your heat preference.
- Dip can be made a day in advance for better flavor.
- Serve with crackers, chips, or fresh vegetables.
