Description
This chicken kofta with garlic yogurt sauce is a quick, high-protein Mediterranean-inspired meal with tender, spiced ground chicken koftas served alongside a cooling, creamy garlic lemon yogurt sauce.

- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 small onion, finely grated or minced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 Tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 clove garlic, minced or grated
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- Salt, to taste
- 1 tsp olive oil (optional drizzle)
- Pita bread or flatbread
- Sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions
- Chopped lettuce or greens
- Cooked rice or quinoa
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground chicken, onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, cinnamon (optional), salt, and pepper. Mix gently just until combined.
- Divide into 8–10 portions and shape into oval patties/logs (or skewer for grilling). Chill 10–15 minutes to firm.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook koftas in batches 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through (165°F). (Or bake at 400°F for 15–20 minutes, or grill over medium heat.)
- Stir together Greek yogurt, garlic, lemon juice, and salt. Drizzle with olive oil if desired. Chill until serving.
- Serve koftas with garlic yogurt sauce and optional pita, veggies, greens, rice, or quinoa.
