Irresistible Cheddar Bacon Dutch Baby – A Hearty Brunch Favorite


Ingredients

  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk, room temperature
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 1/2 cup (50g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 strips cooked bacon, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for the skillet)
  • Fresh chives or green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Place a cast iron skillet inside to heat.
  2. Whisk together eggs, milk, flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until smooth. A blender can also be used.
  3. Carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven, add butter, and swirl to coat.
  4. Pour the batter into the skillet. Sprinkle cheddar cheese and chopped bacon evenly on top.
  5. Return the skillet to the oven and bake for 18–20 minutes, until puffed and golden brown around the edges.
  6. Garnish with fresh chives or green onions and serve immediately while warm.
