- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
- 1 tablespoon coffee liqueur (optional)
- 24 ladyfinger cookies
- Cocoa powder, for dusting
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add the mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Continue to mix until well combined and smooth.
- In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur, if using. Mix well.
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not overly soggy.
- In a rectangular dish, place a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the cream mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Evenly distribute half of the sliced bananas over the cream layer.
- Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers, followed by the remaining cream mixture. Top with the remaining banana slices.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder for an elegant finish.
