Ingredients

  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1 tablespoon coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • Cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add the mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Continue to mix until well combined and smooth.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur, if using. Mix well.
  3. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not overly soggy.
  4. In a rectangular dish, place a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the cream mixture over the ladyfingers.
  5. Evenly distribute half of the sliced bananas over the cream layer.
  6. Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers, followed by the remaining cream mixture. Top with the remaining banana slices.
  7. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
  8. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder for an elegant finish.
