Description

Sweet and Simple Apple Pear Jam to Celebrate the Season


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced (about 3 cups)
  • 3 medium ripe pears, peeled, cored, and diced (about 3 cups)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 (1.75-ounce) box powdered fruit pectin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 5 cups granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and dice the apples and pears into small, even pieces.
  2. Place in a large saucepan and lightly mash with a potato masher to release juices.
  3. Stir in lemon juice and pectin until fully combined.
  4. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly to prevent sticking.
  5. Once boiling, add all sugar at once. Stir constantly and return to a full rolling boil for 1 minute.
  6. Remove from heat and skim off foam if needed.
  7. Ladle hot jam into clean jars, cool completely, and store in the refrigerator or process for canning.
